1. Download and Install the BOINC Program
Berkeley University's BOINC Program can be downloaded from their main site at
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ If you are not
comfortable installing and setting up programs, don't worry. Use the opportunity
to ask your computer person to help. While they are helping, inform them about Fair Tax.
(It is always safest to download a program only from the official site.)

2. Select and Join One of the BOINC Projects
You can join any project you like or even more than one project, but we should focus our
initial efforts on the Rosetta@home project. You can also use more than one computer on your
account. If you choose to work on more than one project, you will need to create a new account
for each one.
Start the "BOINC Manager" program. Click on the "Project" menu item and then click the
"Attach to project" sub-menu item. An "Attach to Project" window should open, click the
"Next" button. From the table below, choose a project and copy the Project's URL
and paste it into the "Project URL:" field and click the "Next" button. The program will ask
for your email address, go on to step 3.

3. Create Your Project Account
On the "Account information" window, the "Create new account" radio button item is selected
by default. If you have already created an account with this project, select the "Use existing
account" radio button. Enter your email address as an account name in the field provided. Choose and
enter a password in the field(s) provided to access your new account. Click the "Next" button. You are
now set up to run BOINC as an Individual. The final step is to join a team. (Sometimes the project server
is busy and the project will fail to attach. Accept the error. BOINC Manager will automatically schedule
a new attachment request.)
4. Join the "Fair Tax" Team
Joining a team is easy. In the table below, click the "Join Team" link next to your selected
project. You may be prompted to long into your account. Then look for a "Join Team" button and
click it. That's it, you're done installing the program.

5. Set up your Personal "Fair Tax" Profile
